Since the birth of Ragged Life in 2014, we’ve taught thousands of crafters how to rag rug through our Beginner Rag Rug Kits. And, although they’ve evolved and improved year on year, each kit has included a Rag Rug Techniques DVD to get crafters off to a flying start.
So why fix what isn’t broken?
The lockdown has given us plenty of time to mull things over. What we’ve realised is that times have changed.
Nowadays, many new laptops don’t come with CD Drives (mine doesn’t have one, for example). DVD players are also being used less and less with all the platforms like Netflix increasing in popularity.
Being tied to a physical DVD made us slower and less innovative than we wanted to be. We only produced our DVDs once a year, so had to wait aggessss to put new and exciting videos on.
Plus, as a company we are particularly keen to reduce our environmental footprint wherever we can. Why produce something physical that may end up in landfill. Especially if something digital could be so much better!
These are just a few of the reasons we’ve decided to remove the DVDs from our kits from May 2020 onwards.
So what comes in the kits instead?
Fear not, we don’t intend to leave you without your rag rug how to’s and short-changed. We’ve taken two actions to make sure that you get even more value from your Ragged Life kits even without the DVD:
1.We’ve completely revamped the instructional booklet that comes in all our Ragged Life kits. Previously, this booklet was 8 pages long, and now it’s a whopping 28 pages, and choc full of more tips, tricks and techniques…
2. We’ve created an online Kit Companion page on the Ragged Life website, where anyone who buys a kit can access all the videos that previously came on the DVD, plus more. The logins for the Kit Companion page can be found in the Techniques Booklet in your kit, giving you exclusive access to:
