I’ve done quite a lot of copy writing recently, what with my War and Peace length blog posts on Woolfest 2019 and The Mollie Makes Handmade Awards 2019 this month. So, on that note, this pink rag rug showcase isn’t going to be quite as wordy or flowery as normal (I’m worded out, would you believe it), but I’m sure that our beautiful new rug will speak for itself π
So, in the interest of just getting on with it, here is my mum, Victoria’s, latest short shaggy pink rag rug, inspired by the colourful textiles of designer Matthew Williamson. We hope it puts a smile on your face!
The inspiration behind the rag rug:
Anyone who has met Victoria will know that she’s not exactly a minimalist. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that she’s a maximalist. Also, if you put her rag rugs side by side, you’d be hard pressed to find a colour that isn’t represented. She’s a self-confessed colour-lover like me! Inspiration comes from many places, but apparently this rug was inspired by a mixture of Matthew Williamson bold colours, pretty patchwork and stained glass windows. Yes, that’s quite the heady concoction! Below are some of those influences in picture form…
So, onto the final pink rag rug. Here’s how it turned out…

And here are a whole tonne of work-in-progress photos…
Because sometimes it’s nice to see where the rug began and how it progressed π
